It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old, tech savvy or tech challenged. Anyone can build their own business website that looks good and works great. And you can have it today if you want.
That’s the greatest thing about the internet! If you want something, it’s a few key strokes away.
But when it comes to choosing a platform, there are many different options from WordPress to SquareSpace to LeadPages, etc.
Ever wish someone would just tell you which one is the best?
The truth is, they can all get you the results you want. But the difference is in the price tag. In situations like this sometimes it’s good to take a step back and look at what everyone else is doing.
WordPress is the most popular web design platform in the world – by far. They represent over 50% of the CMS market, and for good reason. Unlike the competitors I mentioned, WordPress is open source, which means that anyone in the world can contribute to making it better – and they do. Open source also means it’s free.
You still have to pay for your domain name and hosting account, but you can be all squared away for well under $100 bucks (annually). It’s really a bargain compared to it’s overpriced competitors.
The savings don’t end there. Because WordPress is so popular, people have developed thousands of free plugins and free templates (called themes) to make it even better. Ultimately, WordPress is the most powerful and versatile web design platform in existence.
I know all this because all my websites (including this one) were made with WordPress, and I love it.
People ask me if it’s hard to learn
The answer to that is yes and no. Getting started is really just a 3 step process. All you really need to do is buy a domain name, register for hosting, and install WordPress.
PAUSE: Wait a second, does that sound like a bunch of gibberish? Don’t worry, it’s easier then it sounds, I promise. Let me show you.
